Oooooohhhhh I really liked Undine. It's a sweet little love story. Berlin romance with just a sprinkle of the classic fairy tale. I think the takes for this will be all over the place, good and bad. If you're expecting something grand or elegant or incredibly complex, this ain't it. It's a much more refined and minimal film from Petzold.
Paula Beer is the highlight - she's ravishing in this. Her emotions are so deeply felt. And she carries the whole film, offering more if you explore beyond the surface. I think there's some subtext and intricacies of this film that will begin to unravel with more time and contemplation, and I always appreciate the films that stick with you well after the first screening.
