Chadwin’s review published on Letterboxd:
The Favourite has beautifully lavish cinematography that looks like it’s straight out of a painting. The shot near the beginning of the film where Queen Anne watches a dance, and the final shot at the end (the triple-exposure shot), were gorgeous. Then, the brilliant use of camera movement throughout many of the film’s darkly comedic scenes were absolutely divine. The performances were wonderful as well.
As for the ending itself, I don’t know how I feel about it...as of right now I’m not the biggest fan.
I would probably rate this higher on a rewatch, but who knows.
