don't talk to me if you don't have a nora ephron shrine
So weird to me that others consider this movie "goofy" or "convoluted" when ultimately I find the premise very simple and tragic and affecting... a completely excellent dramatic performance from Sarah Snook, and a really fascinating introspection on what it would mean to be such a lonely person in a vast universe. Not a day goes by where I don't think about this movie tbh
this was actually a thrill to watch because I expected to be so bored by it.... i truly love trashy movies and this was a crown jewel of fanfiction-turned-film. everything- the clichés, the PG-13 sexuality, the insanely black and white relationships- all of it was so earnest, and that made it charming despite itself. when the climax hits and you find out The Truth, I gasped aloud and knocked over my bag.
i saw this in the theatre with two…
