A really solid follow up from director Jim Cummings. I was a big fan of his debut feature, Thunder Road, and I had high expectations for this which were mostly fulfilled.
This film had a great ominous score from Ben Lovett which I found very engaging. I loved the playful energy and tone to the film as well. The overall film felt very reminiscent to 80’s horror.
Jim Cummings and Robert Forster were fantastic, and though I feel their relationship could have been fleshed out more (I assume they couldn’t due to Forster’s unfortunate death) I really enjoyed the dynamic they were aiming for.
This film was just really self-aware and gratifying in how well it balanced its mixture of comedy and horror. A really impressive and fun watch overall.
