So I've picked up a few Tarkovsky's from Criterion recently, and decided to go with this as my first one (Solaris is next).
Boy oh boy, this was fantastic. It's slow and dense, but absolutely fascinating and thought-provoking. It's a thing of beauty too, with incredible cinematography with genius use of framing, plenty of great tracking shots, and amazing use of both black & white and colour.
As it was quite dense, I did find it hard to take it all and interpret it, but this only increases my motivations to watch it again soon, as well as more of his films!
