Starts off like a really interesting black comedy and then becomes progressively more out there and it wasn't for the better for me. Most damning I saw the thing yesterday and to me the only thing that really sticks in my mind was the opening scene where Leland Orser tries to cheat a crappy hotel restaurant out of a 5$ meal. Its so funny and so weird that it immediately got my attention, but after that blah I really didn't give a shit.
Its a shame because I am actually really interested in cults but I didn't feel this movie had anything to say about the topic, and for such a clear indie movie I don't really know why we needed such a conventional obvious villain either. Despite not liking it very much Leland Orser would be the best acting I have seen this year, but that has more to do with how insanely uninteresting these 2015 movie releases seem to be.
