Frankie’s review published on Letterboxd:
Decided to watch this today with my sister and my dad because I just finalized my dorming arrangements for college. Not only is LOTR amazing in its filmmaking aspects but this franchise is so personal to me on many levels. It was the first movie that my dad and I ever bonded together with. That lead to such a strong bond and relationship that I cherish forever. As a Christian, I also find a lot of standard “Christian” movies to be fundamentalist propaganda and honestly quite offensive rather than films. So as I grew older I grew a further appreciation for the many complex themes of the movie. I teared up this time around and every emotion hit harder. I will always love this franchise and fellowship of the ring ❤️.
RIP Ian Holm
