"Choice is an illusion created between those with power and those without."
The best sequels do not try to replicate the original. They add to the story, the mythos, but are ultimately their own thing. That’s what we call respecting the audience and not treating them like idiots! Has to be said but the rave scene 👀 with the electronic music intercut with a sex scene was everything. Perfect example of the level of horniness that people complain is missing from mainstream movies today and they have a point imo. The stakes are high, still stylish as hell and this completely dismantled what I hate about most action films. I usually find most fight scenes unrealistic, like they’re just waiting in line for the next person to kick their butt instead of a group of people attacking them at the same time. It’s done in a sleek signature way that I’m kind of obsessed with now. The whole Architect part can come across like gobbledy goop at first but I’m pretty sure his precise way of speaking is an intentional choice that distracts from it lol. Also that scene was very Star Wars to me. I can’t be the only one who thought that. The car chase scene was relentless and SO badass!!! Zack Snyder wishes, Christopher Nolan wishes (he definitely took notes from this just like how he took notes from Heat), every superhero movie WISHES. The soundtrack in the end credits goes HARD.
Neo + Trinity have my heart 💞
