It’s a genuine landmark film, in both its franchise and its genre and it's my favorite film in the franchise.

If you have any interest in story telling or filmmaking you need to do yourself a huge favor and seek this film out. This film is a visual beauty and overall it is completely compelling. I can’t recommend this film any higher!

If you research this film you will see that the story was influenced by true events when Dario Argento was receiving threatening letters and phone calls from an obsessed fan who continually criticized him for murdering beautiful women in his films. These events triggered him to write Tenebre.

Such a great film with a great visual impact and truly masterful pieces of cinema. Compared to Nightmare Before Christmas, it's perhaps harder for kids to really appreciate it, because it seems to be far more fun for adults than kids, but frankly dear, I don't give a damn.

    Malignant

    ★★★★★

Malignant is a supernatural slasher with many scares, action and surprises, and a bad guy who pays homage to the classics of the genre. His staging has the unmistakable stamp of James Wan, who knows how to take risks, reinvent himself and offer us something different from what he gave us in Saw, or Insidious. This film is James Wan on steroids!

Some people don't like the premise of this film but as a horror fan, I gobbled it up whole. There isn't much gore in this but it doesn't need it. I like how it doesn't show Chucky alive till further in the movie to build up the tension and scare and it worked. The other films in this franchise were either a hit or miss. I liked The Seed of Chucky but I prefer the darker side of the film much like this one.

I guess you can call this a lustful review lol. It took 70 minutes, but I finally got some actual vampiress nudity one of the twins attempts to seduce a young man. It’s mostly (considerable) boob action, but a wardrobe malfunction offers up a few glimpses of her vampiric thicket down below too. It’s the blink and you’ll miss it variety that my teenage self would have gone nuts with trying to pause perfectly on the VCR.

These twins were centerfold in Playboy, maybe that explains why my review took this direction lol. 🐇🐰
