Cory Shannon’s review published on Letterboxd:
If you consider yourself a fan of horror movies, you have to be familiar with the name David Cronenberg. With films such as "The Fly", "Rabid", "Videodrome" and others, he consolidated his characteristic style where body horror predominates. His son, Brandon Cronenberg, seems to have taken on the responsibility of continuing his father's legacy with high concept movies such as this film.
A Cronenberg branded film guarantees explicit gore scenes and excellent special effects, and Possessor boasts special effects from the start. Not only the practical effects, but the entire visual aspect from cinematography to lighting gives it a unique and experimental art film style. The performances are the icing on the cake in making the visuals the most powerful element in the film.
