I mean... this is the perfect movie. I actually feel it's almost pointless writing about it, simply cause it has been talked to death - from its absolutely masterful directing to the groundbreaking special effects and the perfectly complimentary soundtrack. So instead of talking about all that, I wanna talk about something no one else talks about (or possibly even cares about)... 2001: A Space Odyssey's view of humanity.

2001, telling a very unconventional story and lacking a conventional protagonist,…

I have no idea what this was. On the one hand, it’s a tired reboot with direction/editing was so terrible I genuinely felt intoxicated simply trying to follow the plot. On the other, it’s a randomly star-studded disasterpiece that’s genuinely fun to watch when a joke lands (the milk gag got me good) and even more fun when it doesn’t.

And for all it’s attempts to appeal to a younger demographic, I’m really not sure it works for that. Like…

Insanely good. The animation is fantastic, the characters are unforgettable, and every song is a bop. I do have a few minor nitpicks - mostly the frenetic editing and the fact this narrative is condensed to such a short timespan (leaving little room for nuance in Belle and the Beast's relationship) - but, like I said, these are minor.

I'm not sure I would say that this is the definitive version of the story (the Broadway version might win out…

Before I begin, I do want to say that I'm really happy Snyder was able to get his vision out there and give the fans what they so desperately wanted. It's clear this project meant a lot to him and the dedication he made to his daughter, who he lost during the film's initial production, was really beautiful. As for the movie itself though...

Zack Snyder's Justice League can be viewed under two very distinct lenses - as a recut…

Hereditary is a movie that sticks with you like no other. In his feature directorial debut, Ari Aster solidifies himself as a master of modern horror - not through the use of cheap jump scares but through the creation of real psychological dread. The way the plot slowly unfolds, turning these characters into cogs in a soulless, uncaring machine is simply incredible - and is even echoed in the way its shot, the Graham residence being made to resemble one…
