As I am writing this review, the film has a 37% rating from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes but a 93% from the audience. In a strange way, that makes a lot of sense to me.

A few things:
1. Queer baiting during Pride Month should be illegal.
2. This film had the potential to be so much better, I’m kinda bummed that they rushed the ending because I actually really enjoyed watching Luca and Alberto’s “friendship” blossom (let’s be real, it was summer love). The town’s acceptance of the sea monsters was so inorganic and that really made the film feel cheap and unpolished.
