9/10 it was going to be an 8 but certain events bumped it up. Epic!
One of my most anticipated films of the year and an awesome penultimate film from my favourite director. Was not disappointed.
💕The Good: The acting was amazing! They were honestly all so good! But Leo for me was outstanding. From his characters little tics to his temper tantrums to how bloody hilarious he was. Wow! Brad was also VERY funny and the were both fantastic together.
There was also one of the best child actors I've ever seen. Casting choices were spot on too. Damien Lewis really looked like Steve McQueen.
The locations, camera shots, costumes, editing and the soundtrack were all perfect and really immersed you in what it was like to be around in 1969's Hollywood.
The film was so hilarious! There are so many stand out moments. Rick's pep talk in the trailer, the bruce lee scene, the crying and the last act! That last act made me hysterical! The whole cinema was belly laughing together. It was wonderful ☺️
There are people saying that Margot was pointless in the film but I actually thought it was a fantastic tribute to Sharon Tate and showed how sweet, free spirited and beautiful she was. There was an aura about her character and she really lit up the screen which absolutely added to the dread of what we feared was approaching but it also showed that she was more than a brutal murder victim. She was a person too.
All the Manson family stuff was fantastic too, the tension when they visited the ranch! Bloody hell!
💩The Bad: Not a lot really...I guess there isn't really much plot to it. You are just really there spending time with these characters watching them go about their days.
I really wish that Kurt's character had been Stuntman Mike from Death Proof before he went of the rails. It's what I expected from the trailer but nope 😣 I would have loved that little tie in to the Tarantino Universe.
😍Eye Candy: Margot Robbie (although I did miss her blue eyes) and Austin Butler looked damn fine with dark hair!
So overall I actually can't wait to see it again! I want to say so much but I'm trying to remain as spoiler free as possible but as it ended I definitely was teary but also had a big smile on my face. Bravo once again Quentin, I love you! So sad his next film is his last 😭 noooooo!
P.S obsessed with finding out all about Charles Manson etc now 🙈 #sicko
