Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Terminator 2: Judgment Day ★★★★★

This continuation of the 1984 film The Terminator witnesses producer and director James Cameron conducting the Vietnam metaphor he wielded in Aliens with a more melancholia tone than he could with the perpetual menace of xenomorphs. His treatment of Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) bearing the brunt of a ferocious past, has on balance the circumstance of her striving to bring about a cessation to her nightmares along with readying the future resistance leader as the liberator of civilisation, and although he can’t resist stretching the morality by the end, the blockbuster mayhem is expertly framed. It's his approach to the physics of a scene, which distinguishes him from the multiple of pretenders, and emphasises the menacing anarchy at the heart of T2: Judgement Day.
