I loved these disaster movies growing up-Poseidon Adventure, earthquake, this. Sure there was a formula but it was a great formula. And they pulled in some great talent-Newman and McQueen. Faye Dunaway, William Holden, Richard Chamberlain, Robert Wagnor. Fantastic! Is this great film making? of course not! Is is freakin" entertaining? Absolutely!!!

maybe it's because it was so Dickensian but I really really enjoyed this movie. It always amazes me the simple special effects they were able to achieve back then(see Vampyr). The acting and direction though a little melodramatic was no one near some other silent films. The cinematography by Julius Jaenzon was beautiful. Like moving photographs. Freeze frame almost any moment in this film and you could frame it and hang it on a wall. The score by Eric Westburg…

A Face in the Crowd 1957
I've heard so much about this movie from a movie podcast I listen to that I had to see it. Fantastic. The writing, Directions cinematography the acting was amazing. Andy Griffith as far removed from Mayberry as possible. Patricia Neal as the woman who finds him and Walter Matthau as her friend are incredible.

Wonder Woman 1984 2020
So disappointing. How could basically the same people that made the first one make this mess. The story was bad. the acting was bad. The fight sequences were bad. Except for Chris Pine and Kristin Wigg, everyone else seemed either to be chewing scenery and just waking through the roles. Save your money and if you need to watch it, watch it on HBO max.
