    Politically this is kind of nonsensical, throwing together vague anti-communism, mind-numbing consumption, and automated religion.
    Luckily, Lucas really lets the images soak and so it becomes absolutely haunting and ethereal. I love how uncomfortable and strange every body seems. The police robots have a special uncanny quality since they both look and move stiltedly, but have just enough naturalistic touches to feel almost human.

    The few moments of intimacy are also split. It feels as if neither of these people…
