Class Action Park ★★

this story is a fascinating microcosm of the Reagan years but idk it feels wildly irresponsible to spend an hour nostalgically framing the narrative as a real life latchkey kid 80s movie, then spend 15 absolutely harrowing minutes with just one of the families whose lives were ruined by the sick monster who ran this place, and then another 15 minutes trying to go back to the energy of the first hour. Leaves you with the gross feeling that the filmmakers aren’t really that interested in unpacking the darker implications of the story outside of its shock value, and the people who died at action park are narratively inconvenient to the point the film wants to make.
