I forgot to log this one. Woof. Where to start?
Delroy Lindo does his absolute very best with the material given to him, and I DO think he should be nominated for best supporting, but man...what the hell even was this movie? When I thought the film was wrapping up I checked the running time and realized that there was a whole hour left. That in and of itself is bad, but everything in the second half also ends up feeling cartoonishly detached from the first. I feel like I didn't watch the same movie as so many other critics giving this glowing reviews.
There was one scene in particular that I don't think was supposed to be funny to me, but I couldn't help but burst out laughing. I don't know if it was because of shock, or if it was just insane to a hilarious degree, but let's just say I couldn't help but be reminded of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. You'll know it when you see it.
