Gregory Kent’s review published on Letterboxd:
While Borat Subsequent Moviefilm doesn't quite live up to the original, it is consistently funny throughout its comedy-appropriate (read: less than 100 minutes) run time. The laughs are again the product of Sacha Baron Cohen, the ignorance of its subjects, and the editing, but Maria Bakalova is the real highlight this time around. This isn't about 'keeping up' with Cohen, Bakalova is straight up stealing scenes throughout the film and has an actual character arc to accompany her hilarious performance. The storytelling, which must've needed significant changes on the fly, works pretty well as a thread line for all of the insanity, and the twist at the end is funny and satisfying. A fun time during an unfun time.
