Over all I liked this one better than the first Thor, but it retains some of the same problems: a love story that never really works and rather unimaginative tech and world designs chief among them. This one also has a much, much less interesting villain though, who definitely falls into the "evil for the sake of evil" category of comic book villain that Loki never fell into.
Speaking of which, Tom Hiddleston again steals every moment of screen time he is given here, and really raises the material he is given; it's unfortunate he isn't in it more.
I will say the film fixes the detached, Dragon Ball Z-style arena battles that plagued the first film for the most part, and the final fight in London is one of the better fight sequences in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
