every filmmaker can learn something from the visual storytelling in undone. modern image-making in cinema is too concerned with absolute aesthetic value, when the most successful cinematography is that which is inseparable from the story that is trying to be told. the rotoscoped live performances provide that nuanced human quality that pure animation has yet to achieve, while allowing the creators to distort and command the reality of the show as it deteriorates for the protagonist 👀.
one of the best new shows I’ve seen.
