Serge The Movie Guy’s review published on Letterboxd:
"All of that chit chat's gonna get you hurt."
I just came back from watching Suicide Squad...again. I must say, it's definitely better the second time around. I'm starting to notice things I didn't realize before.
I saw more character development, some hidden gem moments, and I realized how much music can tell a story and help provide mood to the characters.
I definitely wish Jared Leto was in it more, but I do understand why he was cut out so much. I think he should have had all the scenes he was in but have them be longer or have more scenes with him to help explain Harley's background and their relationship more.
I think there's a bigger picture here than most people realize. It's a great comic book movie not just for the action and effects, but for the memorable characters and their story of redemption, family, love, hate, teamwork, and acceptance.
Bad vs Evil.
Gangsters, Killers, Thugs, Metahumans, and Psychopaths.
And the Joker.
