Rope ★★★★

Hitchcock's first color film, which also happens to be comprised us several long takes, cut to look as mostly continuous. It's done to great affect, and the perspective of the killers and the subject matter is distinctly twisted and macabre for the time of its release. The cast is solid, and the tension kept taut from the very beginning. It feels a bit wordy at times, but the short running time keeps any particular moment from overstaying its welcome.
