An enjoyable and engaging student film which I can already tell has hints of things that Spike Lee will expand upon in more fleshed-out projects. The characters are interesting and the connections between them are narratively strong. It feels like a debut, but a very low-budget one, reminding me of things like Nolan's Following and Boyle's Shallow Grave. And it's really impressive of him to make something so firm and well-rounded this early on without the help of a studio. Looking forward to see him develop more.
