yes to a rape-revenge film where the avenger isn't a boyfriend/husband, where the word "rape" isn't used once, or shown, where the death of the victim is also the death of the vigilante, in the sense that grief flattens you. within the confines of a genre rife with ~clear~ limitations, this movie did a lottt for me. the ending was a swing and a miss, for sure, but many virtues beyond it. excited to see what emerald does next.
Have always been freaked by movies with rabid fandoms, which is probably why it took me ~fifteen years to rewatch this. THE REGRET. Nightmare Before Christmas is ~so much more~ than the goth-identity staple it's been meme'd into over the years. My only note is that Sally should have straight-up killed Dr. Finkelstein, what a perv
