Henzon’s review published on Letterboxd:
Out of the three Oscars Capra won for best director I’d say this is the best one. His idealism and cartoonish approach to characters and storytelling is more successful here than it was in ‘’It Happened One Night” or “You Can’t Take It with You”.
Gary Cooper was an incredibly handsome man and not a very expressive actor, but his Longfellow Deeds (best name ever) is subtle and those eyes gave me everything I needed to understand his character. Definitely one of his best roles. He was an animal born to inhabit the big screen.
Jean Arthur was a great actress.
