the narrative itself wasn't my cup of tea.. there was a lack of plot and directionality and times where it all felt disconnected (in a bad way). the performances were amazing. leonardo dicaprio never ceases to amaze me. and seeing margot robbie embodying the delicacy and beauty of sharon tate made me beyond emotional. the scene where she watches herself in the cinema was absolutely heartwarming to me. i will also point out - and i think it's unanimous - that margot, as an actress, deserved so much better and more than the material she actually got.
the ending? absolutely cathartic to me. i am an old hollywood fan and i often fantasize a world where actresses such as sharon tate, natalie wood, marilyn monroe even, stayed safe, alive and well. it was nice to see that - i felt somewhat avenged.
