"As terrifying and painful as reality can be, it's the only place where you can get a decent meal"
I cannot stop watching this movie. The ending monologue from Halliday in his childhood room never fails to break me and bring me to tears. That significant triumph of winning and that emotional payoff always hits me. I'm really beginning to think this might be quickly becoming one of my favorite films. It's the equivalent to an ice cream sundae. Such a smart script that continues to worldbuild as if the film is being created while you're watching it, so much heart and emotion, such relevance in its themes and motifs, breathtaking visuals and all or nothing action sequences, and genuinely stunning direction from Spielberg. Ready Player One is an absolutely brilliant cinematic treat as well as a feast for the eyes, the heart, and the mind.
