Seth Herzog’s review published on Letterboxd:
Strawberry Mansion is a unique blend of children’s fantasy adventure and high concept science fiction told through whatever inventive micro budget option is at the filmmakers disposal: and that’s a good thing.
It both takes itself very seriously and not seriously at all. The characters are all lavish and colorful, but they never try to convince you they aren’t people in giant masks.
A gorgeous look and color palette, a brilliant score that had me convinced that Dan Deacon might be the only person in the world that truly understands this movie, and a love story lost in time akin to Three Colors: Red, there’s a little something for everyone... but this isn’t really meant for everyone. I have a feeling this will connect with very few people but it will leave a lasting impact on those who embrace it.
