I really... have a thing for biopics about depressed musicians. So I mostly enjoyed this! Some parts of it, especially in the first half were a little slow though.
I went through a YouTube binge a few months ago where I watched a bunch of videos about Judy Garland and to be honest I feel like I got more out of that binge than this movie in terms of learning about her life and career.
But Renee Zellwenger’s performance was amazing. There was nothing particularly new or exciting with the writing or the directing, but Renee was able to capture my attention so well and I really felt for Judy.
