I liked this more than I was expecting to like it, but I didn't love it. I had a lot of problems with the "story" and how it was told.
First, it was too long. There were definite pacing issues in the middle of this movie. A lot of scenes dragged on for so long that I got bored or frustrated a lot. And some scenes could have been cut all together and didn't feel necessary at all.
I feel like this movie lacked a story really? It all just felt really scattered and pointless. I thought maybe he was going for a theme of feeling irrelevant, but that never really goes anywhere. And then it leads up to this crazy final 40 minutes, but that doesn't feel earned thematically.
What I DID like was the characters. I thought he did a great job of writing interesting people, which is why I ultimately enjoyed watching it at all. Even with the scattered plot, these people were interesting enough to follow.
I might have loved this movie if I liked Brad Pitt's character at all, but I actually hated him. Leo made this movie for me though! He was incredible and proved again why he's such an icon. Margot Robbie was so charming, but felt very underused.
Ending notes - the FEET. my god, Quentin get it together. We get it, you like feet. Also, what is your beef with Bruce Lee???
