    A Ghost Story

    This review is for Rosario.

I wish this was a happy rewatch of one of my favorite movies, but watching it is the best way I can deal with grief right now. I guess death will always be part of our lives, and cinema for me is the way to cope with it right now; it's my pie, my way of understanding this better.

I have a weird relationship with death, I deflect a lot and try to avoid those…

    Nobody Knows

The suitcase you once traveled with, it's now buried under the dirt, filled with hopes and dreams. And those things you longed for are nowhere to be found because the childhood that seemed bright is long lost, there's no innocence anymore, and the world has consumed every spark in your home.

And now, the red painting tarnishes the floor, the piano won't play anymore, and the plants will stop growing forever; the smiles, the games, the joy, they all seem…

I think this one of the best comedies and also one of the best animated movies out there, it just gets better every time, and the subversion of the genre is even better than on the first film. I think I get a new joke each time I watch it, and the characters are just fantastic.

I'm sad for whoever has to watch this without the Latin American Spanish dub, it's streets ahead.

I hadn't seen this film since its premiere (it was actually the last movie I saw in theaters before the pandemic), and I forgot how great it was. It's a well-crafted reinvention of the genre, and an amazing adaptation of the classic story to the modern world, using themes of abuse and gaslighting that make the movie even more terrifying.

By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm'd / But thy eternal summer shall not fade / Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st / Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade / When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st / So long as men can breathe or eyes can see / So long lives this, and this gives life to thee. - William Shakespeare

'Nomadland' may just be one of the best films of 2020, powerful…

It's been a really difficult week, and I really don't have much energy, but movies like these feel like a little bit of sunshine, and it's always a good time.

I really liked this, even more than I was expecting, it's a lot of fun and also really sweet. The animation style is incredible, I loved the 2D/3D blend, the colors are fantastic, and well, it's really a visual marvel. I also liked the whole story, it has a lot of fun gags and jokes, and the film has a really solid script that pays off. I really feel Katie.
