    Bacurau

    ★★★½

Bacurau was an excellent portrayal of power dynamics, exploitation of rural/indigenous communities, disregard for culture, classism, western terrorism all told in what I'd call accessible storytelling, easily universally understood by audiences anywhere. Though there are some aspects of the story that left me slightly confused, it's an intense depiction of a not too far away dystopia.

The film mirrors Brazil’s current political and artistic economy in a very straightforward fashion and that bluntness in the storytelling, like "this is the type of shit going on right now" is one of the big reasons I love film in general so much.
