How come nobody in this movie notices how much Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen's characters look and sound so much alike?
A cracking return to the horror genre by Sam Raimi after spending the last decade making big-budget Spider-Man movies, this film makes a marvellous companion piece to Evil Dead II. Subsequent rewatches may make the film seem overfamiliar but for a slice of Three Stooges-esque horror comedy this is great entertainment.
The ultimate modern monster movie mash-up, Freddy vs. Jason is tremendous fun as long as you separate it from it's parent franchises and take it on its own merit. Freddy is back to being a bit nastier, more like how he was in Dream Warriors, and Jason is just a bad-ass. There's also a fantastic commentary with Robert Englund, who obviously relished playing Freddy for what turned out to be his final time.
