Daryl’s review published on Letterboxd:
Touching and achingly sweet, this is a story about a man who has devoted his life to the lives of two of the greatest children's television characters of all time, Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch.
Sure, the overwrought score does its very best to wring every last tear in both the sad and sentimental moments but this kind of manipulation goes with the territory as (let's face it) The Carroll Spinney Story is likely to make you cry anyway!
A fascinating documentary that would make a great companion piece to Being Elmo. If you're a fan of The Muppets, Sesame Street or even if you just have a beating heart, I Am Big Bird: The Carroll Spinney Story is a great work of film making.
