Howard Aitken’s review published on Letterboxd:
I loved this. It taking an obviously serious topic and carefully constructing a comedy around it worked virtually perfectly, resulting in a surprisingly ‘fun’ film.
The cinematography worked in tandem with the light hearted comedic feel, as did the colour grading and certain actors, which effectively added to the mood and tone. The jumps between fun and serious were also seamless and very well thought out.
The acting in general was very good, namely Jojo and Elsa, although I thought Scarlett Johansson felt a little out of place at certain times.
The pacing was great. Even though I felt towards the middle dragged a tad, it didn’t at all feel like nearly 2 hours, and didn’t really want it to end when it did.
Overall would highly recommend, was a memorable classic.
