We are entirely absurd and abstract beings and this movie is so beautiful. I love the continuity of this movie. It is so smooth and lucid and follows some other subconscious/creative logic. I think synecdoche New York is similar in its meshing of the real world and the acted world. Humans might be solely victims of the past, and the forming of the consciousness might be just an evolutionary adaptation— but I find the way that Lynch presents the human experience to be so familiar. Present experience is so distorted and time feels like such an arbitrary construct the majority of the time. I love David Lynch.
