But spoiler alert. "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run" is really just a feature-length commercial for Kamp Koral, a project that the creator was actually against ever since, with rehashed elements from the first movie as much as it is just a glorified version of the episode "Have You Seen This Snail?".
Less filler, none of the Kamp Koral flashbacks, more originality, and more overall focus could have otherwise pushed it to being rather decent,…

It's been 8 years since this beautiful love letter to the culture of arcade gaming with a fun world, great messages, and charming characters came out, and it is still aging so well.
With The Emoji Movie of all films getting a sequel just two years ago, I can only imagine when this gem will as long they don't fuck it up.
