I turn 20 in less than 2 hours which is...weird. Moreso than turning 18, it feels like you’re finally, officially crossing the threshold into adulthood.
My 19th year has probably been the best year of my life so far, and it all began with getting my first writing gig at A24 a few days after my birthday. I’ve become a lot more confident - long gone is the timid girl who was too terrified to make friends with anyone outside the safety of her student flat - and just a few days ago, I got over my fear of interviewing people, only to learn that I actually quite enjoy it. I write for a blog that continues to grow and flourish every day, I’ve met some incredible people, and the encouragement I get from everyone really helps me believe in myself and my writing. I’m still only a baby freelancer, but I feel like I’m making strides towards achieving my goals.
Call Me By Your Name has been the constant of my 19th year - so it only felt fitting that I watch it again and destroy my soul before my birthday. Hopefully this next year is even better.
