The Handmaiden

The Handmaiden ★★★★

I felt the ending a little empty but the rest is a masterpiece, incredible good actors, everything about this world is believable and unique, and the mythology and the mystery about the Uncle Kouzuki and his books are so engaging. The most part of the script is pure gold, and I loved how the cinematography used so good composition expressing feelings and using shapes to drive the eye in certain points.
But different from other directors that use only 1 or 2 forms (squares or circle), Chung-hoon Chung uses a lot of shapes (triangles, circles, overlapping shapes) more shapes than colors and more shapes than anyone, I dig this movie elegance.
