This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Devs is an ambitious sci-fi series from director Alex Garland. The similarities to Ex Machina were distracting at times, but these 8 episodes are more compelling and thoughtful than most of what’s out there. I thought Nick Offerman and Zach Grenier as Kenton were the best in terms of performance and character. Beyond exploring the out of control power of large tech companies, it’s more closely examining destiny.  If we knew the future could we change it, or is it…

    Fant4stic... Huh.

Okay first of all, I thought it would be GREAT if I searched FF2015 and the shit wasn’t even on here. Low key I kinda was hoping it wasn’t. But it was! And I’m here. Anyway. Where to begin...

    The movie is ALRIGHT.

I was expecting it to be much worse than it was. I literally haven’t seen it since like two weeks before it came out, and I was in a heavily fucking traumatized state of mind. Why? Eh, save that…

A movie with the goal of appealing to everyone somehow manages to be so damn unlikeable and easy to hate. But somehow it actually worked and got me to not despise it’s corniness. Could it be Mahershala’s amazing performance? Could it be Viggo’s pretty good performance? Could it be the manipulative ass score? (I’m so fed up with this bland ass ‘best picture’ music in all these dramas)

I’m looking at this a lot like how I looked at Love,…

    Keeping secrets, are you?

While this review does not have any real spoilers, I do go into some minor plot details, so be aware.

From the opening shot of the film to the last, I was entirely enthralled throughout Robert Egger's masterpiece, The Lighthouse. It's not difficult to see what sets apart the film from almost everything else being released today. Just viewing some screencaps or the trailer will make it clear that this is not your average movie. And,…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

The performances are highlights in both Pattinson's and Defoe’s repertoire, the black and white photography is gorgeous, and the story of "Winslow" coming to terms with his tentacle fetish was truly powerful stuff.

    (DIRECTOR'S CUT)

Midsommar was already a strong candidate for film of the year. The characters, including the Hårga, are more fleshed out in this directors cut. There are more scenes chronicling Dani’s and Christian’s ever collapsing relationship, which was one of the strongest aspects of the original cut as well. They don’t even get to Sweden until a half hour or so into the film. The stand out was when Christian invites Dani to Sweden, which is absent in the…
