    ★★★

I watched 6 people walk out of this movie. It's far too long. The young girl who played Maya was the best part of this otherwise meandering film.

  • Jungle Cruise

    Jungle Cruise

    ★★★

I would watch anything with Emily Blunt and her magnetic presence carried me through to the end of this movie. Her and the bad dad jokes.

  • Joe Bell

    Joe Bell

    ★★★

Connie Britton was the soul of this movie.

  • Cowboys

    Cowboys

    ★★★

I absolutely love that there are films being made about transgender youth and mental illness, but there was something odd about this movie. I couldn't buy into the "on the run" aspect and the mother's struggle with Jo's identity was forced. It just rang a little disingenuous.

  • Those Who Wish Me Dead

    Those Who Wish Me Dead

    ★★★

There is just too much going on at once in this movie.

  • Pinocchio

    Pinocchio

    ★★★

Visually stunning, but too long and endlessly slow.

  • Tenet

    Tenet

    ★★★

That this got an Oscar Nomination for Production Design is ridiculous. Especially when I can think of so many that were more deserving: First Cow, Personal History of David Copperfield, Promising Young Woman, Emma, Ammonite, i’m thinking of ending things, One Night in Miami, and  Swallow. Just to name a few. The visual effects WERE wicked cool, but that plot was a dumpster fire.

  • She Dies Tomorrow

Jane Adams! I will literally watch her in anything, but this was a head scratcher for sure.

  • The United States vs. Billie Holiday

    ★★★

Andra Day was Everything in a kinda okay movie.

  • Penguin Bloom

    Penguin Bloom

    ★★★

Oh for the cheese of it all! This is a movie my mother would love. And I thought Naomi made it worth the watch.

  • Land

    Land

    ★★★

The first act was predictable and forced. Followed by a brief glimmer of grounded beauty in the middle. Wright and Bichir had a warm and genuine chemistry (which I am totally blaming for the tears I shed at the ending).

  • Mulan

    Mulan

    ★★★

I just don’t see a need for these live action remakes of perfectly fine animated movies. It lost a lot in the translation.
