    This movie is witchy as fuck & I loved it. Triangles everywhere. Seriously some of the best cinematography I've seen all year. Absolutely gorgeous movie. Super atmospheric & great synthetic score. Would make an amazing double feature with Mandy.

    So this is my first Kelly Reichardt film & while I definitely applaud the ambition of making a movie about two (mostly) kind-hearted frontiersmen who become friends, steal milk from a (the titular First) cow & use it to make & sell biscuits...     Run is a great example of how a mediocre script can be evaluated by some solid ass actors. Sarah Paulson & newcomer Kiera Allen really make RUN work in spite of itself.
    I wasn't a big fan of Aneesh Chaganty's Searching outside of it's opening 10mins (which legit made me cry), but I think he does solid work here. Definitely displaying growth as a director & the film looked good.
    The weak link is the script. You can see every "twist" coming…

    Probably Zemeckis' best film since Flight? He seemed really comfortable making a movie that would scare the shit of out childern. The witches mouthes... Good lord. It's 100% a pointless remake, but Anne Hathaway is REALLY going for it & Octavia Spencer grounds a lot of the silliness. Stanley Tucci is totally wasted, but it is definitely a film where you see him get bit in the nuts by a rat... So that's something. I appreciated the weirdness of the film.…
