Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Terminator 2: Judgment Day ★★★★½

Bigger, longer, louder and probably better too, on a technical level anyway, but when it comes to sheer fun, I prefer the firstling. I miss the b-movie vibe and although Robert Patrick is pretty intimidating (look at him run!) as the liquid metal, shapeshifting murder machine, he simply lacks the physical threat Mount Schwarzenegger had. Sure, the big guy has a few cool one liners and all , but come on; bad T is so much more impressive than good T. Or any other Terminator in the franchise.

Imagine him playing an upgraded version of what was a tank of a cyborg already. No such luck, it's a blockbuster now and it shows with a number of forced jokes and some sobby stuff I don't particularly care about. I'm not really sure what to make of Sarah trying to kill that Dyson guy either. Quite reckless. Luckily dr. Silberman is still the prick you love to hate and Cameron once again excels at the action. You give him a truck, he gives you a masterclass in mayhem. Great movie, but with hiccups.
