    It’s been so long since I’ve seen this, and it remains just as warm & fuzzy and magical as it did 5, 10, 20, 80 years ago. This is peak Old Hollywood, where the love of the movies began for so many generations.

    Narrow aspect ratios concealing & revealing information, split screen collages, POVs, match cuts, long takes, a smooth blend of genres, and that amazing, unsettling performance by Tony Curtis in the final act. It’s experimental and fantastic, completely ahead of it’s time and exciting even today. I don’t know anything about this case, about the inconsistencies or the liberties taken by filmmakers. What I do know is that this is a very excellently crafted film.

    I won’t get too into it, but this was literally bad. It’s misogynistic throughout, but also lacks the finesse of Tarantino’s earlier movies. He’s always violent, but Hollywood is different. This isn’t a woman hunting down the man who ruined her life, or a Jewish woman taking out a room full of Nazis.
