“maybe we’re only good at brief encounters, walking around in European cities in warm climate”
i love that this moves on from the dreamy, idealistic, romantic idea of love in sunrise and shows the truth – that love is so messy and scary and confusing and infuriating sometimes (maybe most times). i love that this movie is basically just a long conversation between two humans with a genuine connection. i love that it doesn’t have the need to be anything else.
i love how linklater works with time, how his films almost seem like documentaries. i love how he lets his characters breathe, lets them live – to the point it seems accidental, like improvisation, but from watching interviews i know that everything was planned and scripted.
i can’t wait to watch the third one.
