Meh. They managed to make everything boring on the front end by avoiding any characterization or momentum. It makes the ending feel unearned and overly sadistic; even if it is historically accurate. Mabel Cadena steals the show for me, even though I found her character (again) a little predictable in the second half.
Maybe I’m being too hard on this movie.
Hoping more impassioned projects are coming.
This is o.k. I liked some of the writing, but other times it felt clunky and pedagogical. The visuals reminded me of a lot of student films I’ve seen in my BFA program, which is o.k., but didn’t really impress me.
The message is one I mostly agree with, but it’s not something completely new to me as a museum worker. And I didn’t think they made the argument anew or more compelling. I did appreciate the story of the…
