  • Matewan

Being a fan of Lonestar and Eight Men Out, I was intrigued by a period film called, Matewan.  It’s falls the events leading up to the Battle of Matewan. When the minority joins the strikers…

Do not watch while eating or high.  Nightmare fuel at its best. Incredible work.

Found this on YouTube and decided to check it out.  Heard Quentin Tarantino is wanting to remake this.  I can definitely see that.  It's in need of a reboot, but perfect for the time of cinema it takes place in.

    La La Land

First of all, let me say, it's been a while since I have seen a film where after the opening people applauded.  After the first number we were hooked.  Maybe slow to find its story, but that's life.  It happens when you least expect it.  The songs were catchy and not overly annoying.  Everyone was likable in their own way.  The songs as spontaneous as they felt, came at the right times.  I love Whiplash.  A surprise hit for me back in 2014.  An awesome year for movies!  Damien does it again here by catching the essence of what makes going to the movies fun.
