I honestly don’t know if I can love a film anymore than I do Aliens. Yes, Alien is the shit and a horror staple. But Aliens is the best of the series for me. It fathered one of the greatest first person shooters in Halo. It also produced some of the best characters in any movie EVER. We have the most bad ass heroine in Ellen Ripley. We have the bad-assery from Corporal Hicks played by Michael Biehn and Vasquez…

“I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time, I’d rather not spend the rest of this winter... TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!”

My NUMERO UNO favorite horror movie of all time. Could watch this everyday of my life and NOT get bored. John Carpenter is THE master of horror. Throw in an Ennio Morricone score with Kurt Russell as Macready and voila, a masterpiece. I own three different copies of this on blu…

A pretty tense and fun thriller from John McTiernan. It doesn’t quite hold a candle to his other work in my personal opinion but this is still a very well crafted film with an incredibly deep cast. Every time they introduced someone new on screen I was like “oh look, it’s blah blah from blah blah.” Sean Connery was the real star, and Alex Baldwin is probably the lamest Jack Ryan ever. I enjoyed the transitions from Russian to English,…

I love Steve McQueen and when you add in the classic Sam Pekinpah style, it makes a dynamite movie.

It’s pretty much just McQueen and MacGraw on the run the entire movie, and thrown in we get some awesome shootouts and car chases. The story was also pretty good and I have to admit that I enjoyed the ride. I was expecting to like it a bit more, but I might have had my hopes a bit too high.

A nice enjoyable treat. Mads Mikkelsen is great as always and you can tell this is a real heartfelt project for Thomas Vinterberg. A bit of a comedy as well as a heartfelt drama, that has one of the most joyous endings imageable. I’m glad it’s gotten some Oscar noms and I wouldn’t be surprised if it got a dub or two.

Definitely one of my faves of the year. I’m a fan of high anxiety inducing films, and this falls into that category. Most famously, we have Good Time and Uncut Gems, but this is more along the lines of Krisha, were its mostly in one central location and just stressful from start the finish. The score that’s filled with strings being pulled violently, along with the chaotic camera work really makes this movie pop. The storyline is also juicy as hell, and even though it’s a short movie at 77 minutes, so much shit happens that’ll make your heart race as the viewer.
