I think I'm underwhelmed. During the birthing scene, I wasn't really sure how to feel, but the rest of the film just kinda loses all emotional impact it could've had, despite some great performances (People talk about Kirby during the birthing scene, but I think her best work is after that in the more subtle grief sections). I think other films like Rabbit Hole or Manchester by the Sea deal with the trauma of losing a child better than this film does. This definitely feels like a film that was built around the one big scene and felt a need to become a feature film.
This is just a disappointing movie. It should've been much better.
